The Bottle

At the bottom of the bottle is where his strength lies

At the bottom of the bottle where he can drown his cries

At the bottom of the bottle he can finally be free

At the bottom of the bottle he creates a different history

Time goes so fast and there is much he wished he could change

Becoming a better person and breaking free from life’s drunken chains

The warm sensation of his favorite 80 proof

Helps ease the pain in his mind and forget the bitter truth

The bottom of his bottle is a familiar place you see

The bottom of his bottle has taken the place of family

The bottom of his bottle will be where he’ll surely die.

The bottom of his bottle is where his spirit can fly.

I could tell you why or I could tell you a lie

The truth is no one really cares not until this man dies.
